Bunratty Castle

Bunratty Castle

Bunratty Castle

As a tourist attraction, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park seem to have a magic formula; combining original and reconstructed structures, a medieval castle and entertainment.

The fabulous Castle is furnished with 15th and 16th century furnishings and is famous for its medieval banquets held in the Castle twice nightly all year round with entertainers in full medieval costume. For sure you’ll have unforgettable nights of cheerfulness and great entertainment with music, song, good food and flowing wine, that for many is the highlight of their visit to Ireland.

Bunratty folk park in his 26 acres of land contains fabulous reproductions of traditional Irish country, country houses, a schoolhouse, a watermill, shops, doctor's house, merchant buildings and homesteads on a Village street from Ireland of the Victorian era, you will be greeted at the door by the Fear An Ti (man of the house) and by other characters from the traditional Bean an Ti (woman of the house), policemen, schoolteachers and farmers in full period costume to guide visitors back in time and demonstrations of old jobs from stonewall building, butter making, bread baking and typical farming methods. Also the Corn Barn in Folk Park holds Irish Nights, with singers, dancers and musicians providing a celebration of the traditions of Ireland today.

Bunratty Castle was built in 1425 and Folk Park is a recreation of Irish life in the 19th century, now both trace back through Ireland's history from life in a 19th Century Irish Village to medieval banquets in a stunning 14th Century Castle.
