One of the most popular buildings in Kilkenny Castle has built in 12th century. It was the principal seat of the Butler family, it's been completely restored to its former glory; now the central block now includes a library, drawing room, and bedrooms decorated in 1830s.

The cathedral is located at James's Street, and dates from the mid nineteenth century. St. Mary's boasts a 200ft high tower and superbly carved altars; the cathedral actually has three names - St Mary's, the church of St Kieran and the Cathedral of the Assumption.

The building is on the site of an ancient castle built around 1210. The courthouse was established here in the year 1792. Today, you will find regional district and circuit courts at this place. The entrance hall of Kilkenny Old Jail and Courthouse, Kilkenny also operates as an exhibition center during the Kilkenny Arts Festival in August.

According to Annals there was a Viking massacre at the cave in the year 928 A.D. Consists on series of chambers formed over millions of years, the cave contains some of the finest calcite formations found in any Irish cave. Exhibitions and displays in the Visitor Centre.
